What To Expect

I know that seeing a new practitioner can feel daunting, especially if you have felt like your past experiences went nowhere.

My practise is designed to be a judgment-free space where we move beyond "standard" check-ups to find real answers.

Initial Consultation

1. The Deep Dive

We dedicate a full hour to go through your comprehensive health history during the session. I want to hear your story directly from you to connect the dots between your symptoms, lifestyle, and family background.

  • We review your body systems, diet, and environment in detail.
  • I may look at physical signs (like your nails, tongue, or iris) which provide clues to your internal health.
  • We don't just look at what is happening, but why it is happening. The point is to find and treat the root cause.

2. Comprehensive Testing

We don't guess with your health. Based on our discussion, I use advanced functional testing to see exactly what is happening inside your body.

This goes far beyond standard check-ups. These are some of the tests I go by depending on your ailments

  • Comprehensive Blood Panels: We look at "optimal" ranges, not just disease ranges.
  • DUTCH Hormone Testing: A complete profile of your stress and sex hormones.
  • GI Map / Stool Analysis: To screen for parasites, bacteria, and microbiome health.
  • SIBO Breath Test: To check for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (Hydrogen & Methane).
  • Organic Acids Test (OAT): To assess metabolic markers and neurotransmitters.
  • Hair Mineral Analysis: To identify heavy metals and mineral deficiencies.

WELLNESS PLAN

3. Custom Protocol

Once we have the full picture and your data, I create a tailored strategy.

You won't leave with a shopping list of impossible ingredients or a complex routine you can't stick to.

I create a step-by-step plan that fits your real life. This includes clear dietary advice, lifestyle tweaks, and prescription-strength natural medicines if needed.

ONGOING SUPPORT

4. Continuous Care

Healing isn't linear. If you have questions about your prescription or need to adjust your plan, I am here to guide you through the process. We monitor your progress to ensure you are feeling energetic, healthy and symptom-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Naturopathy covered by Medicare or Private Health?

As of late 2025, Naturopathy consultations are generally not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance in Australia.

This means your appointment is a private investment in your health.

However, the outcomes we achieve - more energy, better digestion, and long-term resolution of symptoms often save you money on future medical costs and lost productivity.

  • Do I need to do blood tests? Can I use my GP's results?

We absolutely use blood tests. If you have recent results from your GP (within the last 6-12 months), please bring them.

However, it is important to note that standard GP blood panels are often not comprehensive enough.

GPs generally test for specific disease markers, whereas we need to see a broader range of markers to assess your overall function.

I may need to refer you for a more extensive panel to ensure we aren't missing anything, and I will interpret your results using "optimal" health ranges rather than just standard "disease" ranges.

  • Can I take natural medicine if I am on pharmaceutical medication?

    Yes, but safety is paramount.

I am trained to understand herb-drug interactions.

During our consult, I will review exactly what medications you are taking to ensure that any herbal or nutritional prescription is safe and compatible with your current treatment plan.

  • Why is the Initial Consultation 60 minutes?

Chronic health issues are rarely simple. To get to the root cause, we need time.

Unlike a standard medical appointment, which focuses on acute symptom management, this session allows us to deep dive into your history, environment, and genetics.

This thoroughness is what allows us to get results where other approaches may have failed.

  • Do you treat children and teenagers?

Yes. While this is a general practice, I see many families.

I offer a 50% concession rate for children, students, and pensioners to ensure whole-family health is accessible.

  • What if I just have a cold or flu?

You don't always need the full "deep dive."

For existing clients or acute issues (like a sudden infection, hay fever flare-up, or stress support), you can book an Acute Consultation.

These are short, focused sessions designed to get you the immediate relief you need without the long history review.

  • What medications can you prescribe?

As a Naturopath, I prescribe practitioner-only herbal and nutritional medicines.

These are high-strength, therapeutic products that you cannot buy over the counter.

I do not prescribe pharmaceutical drugs (like antibiotics or steroids); that is the role of your GP.

However, I can work with your doctor to support your treatment naturally.
